While advice from family and friends is helpful, sometimes it’s smarter to get professional advice when you’re making an important decision. Our advisers can give you simple tips and recommendations which will help you get ahead in life and protect your hard work.

While everybody insures their home, their car and even their furniture, it still amazes us how most people fail to insure their income or their life. Although you don’t have any children to look after, you still rely on the income you earn to eat, pay your bills and live – where would the money come from if something went wrong?

Did you know you can insure your income so that if you can’t work due to illness or injury, you will still be paid enough to cover your bills, pay your mortgage or rent and live on? Income Protection insurance is often required if you work in the mining or building industry, but it makes a lot of sense no matter your occupation, and it’s far more affordable than you probably think, especially when the premiums are tax deductible.

Another type of insurance worth thinking about is Trauma. Trauma insurance is designed to pay you a lump sum of money if you suffer from a serious illness. The cash can be used to pay your medical bills, pay off your mortgage, put in a bank account to tide you over, or even just give you a holiday! While you’re young, you won’t need a lot, but it means that if you get sick, you won’t be a burden to your family.

See here to learn more about the different types of insurance and what they cover.

Maybe you aren’t looking to retire just yet, but it’s still important to understand your superannuation and how it works. We can help you understand your super statement, explain why super is so important (even at this age) and find a super fund that offers you the best value in terms of fees and charges.

Many people have multiple super funds from working at different employers over the years. The problem with this is that you are paying fees on many different funds, and receiving piles of paperwork as well. We can help you ‘rollover’ all these different funds into a single super fund which means lower fees and charges and one easy-to-manage statement per year.
